MRS. Linda kovach
Coaching the freshmen of The Woodlands High School, is Mrs. Linda Kovach. Mrs. Kovach is on her 35th year of coaching speech & debate and she has a proven history of success. Not only has she coached numerous students to becoming local and state level champions, but she has also coached several students to success at the national level! A graduate of Louisiana State University, Mrs. Kovach has been teaching debate and communication at The Woodlands High School throughout the entirety of her career.
ABOUT the coach
Leading The Woodlands High School's speech and debate team is Mr. Michael Briones. Following his move from Louisiana last year, he has been working very hard to coach the team to success. In the past, he has coached speech events and a public forum team to the semi-finals, at Louisiana's state tournament. This school year, he coached 9 student's to TFA state qualifications and 1 to qualifying for the TOC. The team has great potential under his leadership and looks forward to an even more successful year with him next year.

mr. colin gill
Coach Colin Gill is on his second year as head coach of The Woodlands High School's Speech and Debate Team. After a successful run in high school, Coach Gill went on to become one of the best collegiate extempers and debaters in the nation. However, his legacy didn't end with his TWO collegiate national championships in extemporaneous speaking. Rather, he has chosen to continue his career in forensics. For the past few years he has coached several teams, but has finally found his home here at The Woodlands. We are so excited to have him and look forward to many successes under his leadership.
